In the summer months, we tend to think about staying hydrated because it’s hot outside and we get thirsty. Staying hydrated is just as important when you ride in the winter months.
Our bodies have to deal with the dry heat in our homes and buildings. We go outside and our lungs work harder to humidify the air we breath and warm it up. In general, we burn more calories when the weather is cold because our bodies are working hard keep our cores warm.
Don’t neglect your hydration when it’s cold outside. In addition to water, have a hot cup of green tea or even hot water with a slice of lemon.
Keep on riding this winter and stay hydrated!
