Dining Creekside

Route 197 in North Carolina is a scenic winding road that starts just outside of Erwin, TN and goes south passing through Barnardsville, North Carolina to intersect with I-26.   The day I was riding route 197, the temperature was perfect (for my summer leather jacket to be comfortable),  the aroma of honeysuckle was vibrant and traffic on route 197 was limited.  A combination that made for a most enjoyable afternoon ride.
As I entered Burnsville, my tummy was telling me it was past lunch time. Driving on Main Street, a cute little cafe’ called out to me and we stopped for lunch. Believe it or not, the creek actually runs under the cafe’. We were greeted with smiles and offered a table on the back porch in the shade. thumb_IMG_5717_1024The brunch menu at the Creekside Cafe & Bakery had several items I found inviting.  I settled on the baked chicken and waffles and was not disappointed; served-up with maple syrup and sweet potatoes.

The Creekside Cafe & Bakery is located at 114 East Main Street in Burnsville, NC.  I’ll be stopping again next time I’m riding down that way. And, if you get a chance to visit, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
